Beppino Boezio is one of the oldest restaurant managers in Quebec City to maintain his business at the same restaurant now baptised La Crémaillère at 73, at Sainte-Anne Street.

Raised in an affluent family, his father being a miller and a pastry cook, he was born north of Italy in the suburbs of Udine. In 1962, Beppino left his country in destination for Quebec in order to join his brother and assist him in cabinet making for a while. Then he was employed as a waiter at the famous Château Frontenac. In 1963, he worked at ‘’Guido's restaurant’’ where he was promoted to chief in rank and finally became his associate in 1967. At that time, Beppino traveled back to Italy to get is girlfriend Bruna who will marry him at the gorgeous Cathédrale de Québec and who will become a valuable member of the team as an administrator since day one.

During the summer 1971, Mr Henry Beaupré, owner of a block in St-Jean Street, proposed a room to Mr Boezio for his future restaurant, La Crémaillère. At the end of the year 1978, Beppino and his wife acquired the entire management of this restaurant in old Quebec City. In 1991, considering the popularity of the restaurant, they associated with Mr Michel Antoine, wine waiter specialist and manager of the restaurant Serge Bruyère. It is only in the year 2005 that they decided to move the restaurant La Crémaillère at the same location inaugurated forty years earlier at the Saint-Anne street.

The owner has been renowned for his numerous prices of excellence since the beginning of his business and most recently as the restaurateur of the year ''coup de chapeau'' by the restaurateur's association of Quebec. Today, the restaurant, La Crémaillère offers a remarquable service, a warm atmosphere, and an exceptional French and Italian cuisine for more than 35 years!

 

Michel Antoine was born in France in the middle of the fifties, his mother being a dressmaker and whose father, cooper by trade, left his business to work in the Paris area.

Michel Antoine's grandmother on his father’s side was the owner of a hotel restaurant in Limoges, his grandfather was a cooper and a wine merchant. As for his uncle, he was a butler at the "Tour d’Argent" and he opened a restaurant in the heart of Paris where Michel started to work at the age of seventeen.. He leaved a year in England to continue his learning process and then left for Canada At the end of the year 1975, he arrived in Quebec where he began to work at the "Café de la paix" restaurant followed by the "La Bastille", "La Chaumière", "Le Dante", a first time at the "La Crémaillère" and finally at the restaurant "Serge Bruyère" where he remained working for ten years which seven of those years were as a butler and as a wine waiter.

He has been part owner of the restaurant "La Crémaillère" as well as a wine waiter in the name of the restaurants in old Quebec for fifteen years. Since then, he devotes himself to the comfort of his guests.
